In 1998, Dr. Donnelly relocated to New York City and the doors of Tutors of Oxford NYC proudly opened here in Manhattan. Since then, Tutors of Oxford NYC has specialized in providing the finest quality individual private tutoring and standardized test preparation available here in New York City.
Due to his love of tutoring (and his dislike of managing employees!) Dr. Donnelly performs all the private tutoring himself. Dr. Donnelly only accepts a limited number of students each year and his schedule tends to fill up rather quickly. Hence, it is often advisable to reserve your time slot well in advance to ensure availability. Places are reserved on a first-come-first-served basis.
Over the years, Dr. Donnelly has helped literally hundreds of students to improve their test scores significantly and achieve their academic goals. We are confident that he can do the same for you.
The original Tutors of Oxford was co-founded in Hong Kong by Dr. Donnelly in 1993 and soon grew to become the territory's largest and most respected premium quality tutoring service. Catering mainly for students from England and the United States, Tutors of Oxford HK specialized in providing the finest quality private lessons available.
As our reputation for excellence quickly spread, we expanded our services to cover all the major standardized tests. At our peak, we employed and trained over forty highly-qualified specialist tutors each academic year and helped thousands of students to achieve their academic goals.
After the change in Hong Kong's sovereignty in 1998, Tutors of Oxford HK closed its doors, secure in the knowledge of a job well done. Dr. Donnelly moved to the United States after accepting a lecturing position at Western Connecticut State University before moving to New York City where he founded Tutors of Oxford NYC.
After moving to New York City in 1998, Dr. Donnelly discovered that the needs of espiring medical students were not being met by the established tutoring companies here in Manhattan. This led Dr. Donnelly to found Doctor MCAT, Manhattan's leading private MCAT tutoring and test prep service.
The MCAT exam is unlike any other standardized test. Even the most gifted students can score poorly on this rigorous exam unless they are aware of the correct approach to taking the MCAT. Knowing the most efficient approach is the key to improving one’s MCAT score. Luckily, Dr. Donnelly's unique strategy is extremely efficient in dealing with the passage-based problem that appears on each section of the new MCAT.
Dr. Donnelly's students are often amazed at how quickly their MCAT scores start to improve and many of them tell him that they learned more during their first lesson with him than they did previously during entire courses with other tutors or test prep centers.
