Tutors of Oxford's convenient East Midtown/Lenox Hill location

For those students who live or work in Manhattan, lessons are available at our convenient Lenox Hill/Upper East Side location on East 65th Street (between 1st and 2nd Avenues). We are just a short walk from the 68th Street/Hunter College Metro station (6 & 4 trains); or the Lexington Avenue/63rd Street Metro station (F train); or the Lexington Avenue/59th Street Metro station (N, Q, & R trains).
Our quiet teaching rooms are fully equipped with whiteboards and all the necessary teaching materials required to provide an ideal learning environment for the student. There is also a very pleasant seating area for the parents of younger students who may wish to be present during the lesson.
Due to popular demand, lessons via Skype are also available for those students who live outside of the Manhattan area. Please call Dr. Donnelly at (917) 568 2473 for more details.
Students can choose lesson durations of either:
- One hour duration,
- One-and-a-half hours duration, or
- Two hours duration
Most students generally have one or two lessons per week at their regularly scheduled time slots.
At the end of each lesson homework exercises are generally set to reinforce the topics covered during the class. This also enables students to practice in between lessons and helps to expedite their progress.
Please note that any student who is really serious about significantly improving his or her test scores must be willing to put in the additional time and effort required outside of the weekly lessons. The homework exercises will help to guide you in this effort and will noticeably speed up your progress. After all, 'practice makes perfect!'
Customized, individual, intensive revision courses can also be arranged for those students wishing to maximize their chances of academic success. Please keep in mind however, that my schedule tends to fill up very quickly during vacation periods and also near the exam dates of each standardized test. Hence, it is highly recommended to reserve your intensive course well in advance. Click here to see pricing details.
Group classes are generally not available, since each student has very different needs and hence, the best way to address this problem is through the individual attention only available with private lessons. However, joint classes can be arranged, for example, if two friends at similar levels, in the same class at school, wish to learn together. These lessons are generally charged at one and at roughly half times the regular individual rate.
